These lyrics revolve around the ratio of action and change. A someone who is inspirational to me once said something along the lines of this:
When you're creating anything artistic, whether you're writing, animating, sculpting, you have to dig into your self for it to be any good. While you're digging, there will be times where you say to yourself "oh, that's too deep" because whatever you found is too raw and people might not accept it. Don't stop! This is where the best of it is! Everyone always has that hesitance. "This is too mean/graphic/violent/dark" Fuck that. It's honest, and real art is honest.
Something like that.
This song starts with the idea of killing everyone who's ever unarguably done wrong(rape, murder, theft, etc).
Could the world be a much better place with a violent purge of criminals?
Well regardless of what you or I think, there's someone out there who disagrees. Whether you and I think it's right and wrong, our ideas completely miss them.
Genocide is still genocide and anyone who carried through with the murder of a killer is no better than that killer.
Are my values and more important than anyone else's?
At times, I think we all believe that.
But I can surely say, beliefs are not worth taking lives over.
There is a balance of evil and pure/ignorant and informed/empathy and apathy that is too grand to upset.
Live your life as an example to others around you, care for them with all of your soul.
That's all you can do.
lyrics
These are dark times
And dark times call for the lightless methods
By the ominous will anonymous hatred dissolve
Our character soon shows it's uncovered face
The human race knows not what comes before it
To accept is your salvation
Deny as you have and nothing will change
Deny as you have and purgatory becomes you
Chance of survival plummets downward
How hard could it be to take a life
And leave his wife with nothing?
All for a possible greater something?
Fear consumes
Oblivion follows
I just want it all to be okay for you and me
I just want...anything
So maybe someday, someone will find me as more than memories
I just want you
I just want the valley
I just want bridges
I just want bodies
I just want it all to be okay
Playing God is below us all
A proper king wouldn't want to be
